Kesha Tells Her Side of That Viral Jerry Seinfeld Hug Snub: ‘It Was Depressing’

Remember when Jerry Seinfeld refused to hug Kesha? She definitely hasn’t forgotten.

In a recent interview, the 36-year-old pop star finally opened up about Seinfeld’s viral snub at David Lynch’s 2017 benefit event, and called it one of the “most depressing” experiences she’s ever had. It’s especially so because she’d been a major fan of the comedian’s popular sitcom Seinfeld, and even used to carry DVDs of the show with her on tour to keep her company.

“Whenever it would get bumpy on the plane, I would pop in Seinfeld and feel like everything’s OK in the world and watch my buddy Jerry,” Kesha explained to Tom Scharpling Wednesday (June 14) on The Best Show podcast. “I get to the f–king charity event and I got really excited [to see him] because he brings me peace and love and all things good in the universe.”

The “Praying” singer thought she was about to embrace one of her heroes, but instead, he turned down her request for a hug — then again, and again. “It was the most depressing — and hilarious — but also so sad. It was the saddest moment of my life,” she added.

The awkward encounter was captured in a video, which afterward blew up on social media. In the clip, the singer approaches Seinfeld while he’s doing a red carpet interview and says, “I’m Kesha. I love you so much! Can I give you a hug?”

The Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee star proceeds to repeatedly say, “No thanks,” dodging Kesha’s persistent attempts to touch him. Eventually, she sadly says, “Oh” and scurries away, after which Seinfeld admits, “I don’t know who that was.”

In Kesha’s defense, it’s not just her. Seinfeld has since revealed that he doesn’t really hug anybody he doesn’t personally know. “I don’t hug a total stranger,” he said in 2017. “I have to meet someone … I have to start somewhere. A hug is not the first moment of … two humans.”

Apple just made Xcode better for vibe coding

Apple has just released Xcode 26.3, and it's a big step forward in terms of the company's support of coding agents. The new release expands on the AI features the company introduced with Xcode 26 at WWDC 2025 to give systems like Claude and ChatGPT more robust access to its in-house IDE.

With the update, Apple says Claude and OpenAI's Codex "can search documentation, explore file structures, update project settings, and verify their work visually by capturing Xcode Previews and iterating through builds and fixes." This is in contrast to earlier releases of Xcode 26 where those same agents were limited in what they could see of a developer's Xcode environment, restricting their utility. According to Apple, the change will give users tools they can use to streamline their processes and work more efficiently than before.

Obsidian has no plans to make The Outer Worlds 3, likely due to poor sales

Developer Obsidian recently announced that it currently has no plans to make The Outer Worlds 3, according to a report by Bloomberg. Company head Fergus Urquhart didn't give a reason as to why Obsidian won't be working on a sequel, but he did note that the performance of The Outer Worlds 2 was "disappointing" and that it needs to "think a lot about how much we put into the games, how much we spend on them and how long they take."

Urquhart also said that Avowed was something of a miss for the company, but that it remains committed to the franchise. Obsidian plans to "keep making games in the Avowed universe," but that doesn't necessarily mean a legitimate sequel. Avowed is, after all, set in the same world as Pillars of Eternity.

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has hit out at Labour's "grave errors of judgement" over Lord Peter Mandelson.Speaking to GB News Political Correspondent Katherine Forster, Mr Farage said: "How many more warnings? How many more warnings did the Prime Minister or indeed Morgan McSweeney need? "They have made a grave, grave error of judgement, despite repeated warnings, and this all comes at a time when you've got a Labour MP who's been sentenced to another four years in prison by a foreign court, a Labour MP arrested again and charged on some incredibly serious crimes. "And in politics, you will always get the odd bad apple in a political party, but it would appear that in the case right now of this Prime Minister and his chief of staff, their errors of judgement, partly their errors of judgement, have led now to case after case after case, difficult for somebody who was already the most unpopular Prime Minister in living memory. This deals yet a further blow."And so I still stick to the view that after May the 7th, when you see in Wales, for example, it's very difficult for me to think that Starmer will survive the summer, if he even gets through to May the 7th."WATCH ABOVE.
