Netflix eyes foray into video games

Netflix eyes foray into video games

The streamer has hired a veteran gaming executive to lead its next act.

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings once said Netflix competes with the video game Fortnite more than HBO.

Watch an incredibly powerful Christmas advert from the Royal Navy with devastating never-before-seen footage of an attack on a British ship. The two-and-a-half minute advert follows the story of HMS Diamond being attacked by Iran-backed rebels back on Christmas Eve in 2023.However, the story is also mirrored with an emotional bond with a father and son, just like this year's John Lewis advert. But, unlike high street stalwarts which splashes masses of cash on their Christmas adverts, the Royal Navy only spent £250 putting the moving story together, paying tribute to serving sailors as well as civilian volunteer.

In today's Advent Calendar, we reflect on preparation during a time when there is so much to do in the lead up to Christmas, from buying presents to spending time with loved ones.'We have to resist the pull to perfect and perform and to hurry and to worry. 'Before any carol was sung or any ribbon was tied the reality was that the gift of Jesus was already given to us.'He is hope in darkness and destruction, He is peace whatever your circumstance, He is joy beyond our circumstance, He is the perfect gift.'
