Taylor Swift Looks Back on Her 2006 National Anthem Performance in Detroit: ‘I Was Sooo Insanely Nervous’

Taylor Swift is looking back on one of her early live performances.

On Sunday (June 11), the 33-year-old pop superstar took to social media after her two sold-out Eras Tour concerts at Detroit’s Ford Field to reminisce about her first time appearing at the approximately 65,000-capacity stadium when she was just 16.

“Ahhhhh Detroit that was so much fun!! First time I performed at Ford Field was singing the anthem there in 2006 and I remember thinking it felt impossible for a place to be that big, I was sooo insanely nervous,” Swift wrote on Instagram alongside a gallery of snapshots from the Detroit Eras show.

The singer-songwriter took a similar stroll down memory lane during her concert at Ford Field on Friday (June 9). Before performing “Lover” during the show’s opening segment, she reminded Swifties about singing the “Star Spangled Banner” prior to a Detroit Lions game in conjunction with the release of her 2006 self-titled debut album.

“It was, like, the biggest place I’ve ever seen in my life,” Swift recalled, “and now we’re back with the Eras Tour.”

Swift finished her reflective Instagram post, writing, “Thanks to those crowds this weekend for your endless energy and extremely loud scream-singing, you made us feel right at home. See you very soon Pittsburgh.”

Earlier in the week, Ford Field tweeted a photo of Swift’s national anthem performance at the stadium with Lions head coach Dan Campbell (who was a player at the time) standing directly behind her. “Big Ford Field fans,” the venue captioned the post.

Swift will resume her Eras Tour with a two-night stand at Pittsburg’s Acrisure Stadium on June 16-17.

DOJ and states appeal Google monopoly ruling to push for harsher penalties against the company

Google might have been officially ruled to have a monopoly, but we're still a long way from figuring out exactly what that determination will change at the tech company. Today, the US Department of Justice filed notice of a plan to cross-appeal the decision last fall that Google would not be required to sell off the its Chrome browser. The agency's Antitrust Division posted about the action on X. According to Bloomberg, a group of states is also joining the appeal filing. 

At the time of the 2025 ruling, the Justice Department had pushed for a Chrome sale to be part of the outcome. Judge Amit Mehta denied the request from the agency. "Plaintiffs overreached in seeking forced divesture of these key assets, which Google did not use to effect any illegal restraints," Mehta's decision stated. However, he did set other restrictions on Google's business activities, such as an end to exclusive deals for distributing some services and a requirement to share select search data with competitors.

ChatGPT is back up after an outage disrupted use this afternoon

If you had trouble using ChatGPT today, you aren't alone. The AI chatbot experienced a partial outage for many users this afternoon, with Down Detector saw reports reaching more than 12,000 reports around the peak point of the issue today.. OpenAI issued a status update shortly after noting that "elevated error rates" were occurring for ChatGPT and Platform users. That problem was marked as resolved at 5:14PM ET.

While the initial outage may be repaired, OpenAI does still have an active status alert up. It's only for the fine-tuning component of its API service. But the end may also be in sight for that final issue, because the current statement from the company is "We have applied the mitigation and are monitoring the recovering.

Le 1er juin marquait d'ailleurs le coup d'envoi des festivités alors que l'équipe derrière l'événement a finalement annoncé la programmation complète.

À la fin mars, on nous présentait déjà deux têtes d'affiche qui seront présentes pour animer la foule durant le dernier week-end de l'événement, soit la chanteuse québécoise Alicia Moffet, les rappeurs Loud et Imposs ainsi que celui qui se cache derrière le récent succès Acapulco, Jason Derulo.
